A busy camping season lies ahead in Saskatchewan and northeastNOW is putting the spotlight on area regional parks ahead of the May long weekend.
The swimming pool at McNab Regional Park at Watson will be open this year and will offer seven weeks of swimming lessons starting on July 5.
Manager Kim Mitchell said the swimming lessons are quite popular with not being able to have them last season due to the onset of COVID-19 pandemic.
“There are a lot of campsites booked up in July because of the families that choose to make it into a mini-vacation where they do swimming lessons and come camping at the same time,” Mitchell said.

August still has some availabilities so far. Most of the sites are full-service with sewer, water, and power.
The park also has a stay and play packages for camping and golfing or the pool for 10 per cent off.
The playground was installed just a few years back and is essentially brand new.
There are some new additions to the park this season according to Mitchell.
“Last year, we added a 10-hole mini-golf right beside it [playground] to add to our licensed dinning and clubhouse,” Mitchell said.
Starting in June, the golf course will have ladies night on Tuesday and men’s night on Thursday. In July and August, there will be junior nights on Monday and every second Friday will be mixed night.
“Come as a couple or with some friends and play golf and we are hoping to do suppers and stuff like that as well,” Mitchell said.
The park recently received funds from the provincial and federal government to upgrade their clubhouse.
