UPDATE: One of the two inmates who escaped from The Pas Correctional Centre on Monday evening was recaptured Tuesday afternoon.
According to the RCMP, 19-year-old Xander Tardiff was arrested. The Mounties didn’t say where he was found.
The other escapee, 21-year-old Kelly Castel, remained at large and police were asking members of the public to be on the lookout for him. Castel was described as being 5-foot-9 and around 135 pounds.

RCMP have issued a critical alert for people living in the Creighton area.
Two inmates, 19-year Xander Tardiff and 21-year Kelly Castel, escaped from The Pas Correctional Centre Monday evening, last being seen around 6:40 p.m.
Tardiff is described as 5’11” and 180 lbs, while Castel is 5’9” and around 135 lbs.
Both have a violent history and are considered dangerous.
