The annual Melfort Trade Alliance Chamber of Commerce’s (MTACC) Show and Shine is coming back once again.
On Friday, June 16th, Main Street in Melfort will be filled with different cars and local businesses showcasing what Melfort has to offer.
MTACC Executive Director Cal Gratton told northeastNOW there will be plenty for people to see.
“The Show and Shine this year is going to be really really busy,” he said. “We’re expecting well over 100 vehicles to line Main Street.”
Although the hot rods are the star of the show, there will be a barbecue at Memorial Gardens as well as the Legion serving up food options.
There is also a theme for this year, pick your decade. Gratton said it’s not only for those bringing their cars.
“We want the business the Melfort Business community to get involved as well. They can even dress the part and pick a decade, 60s, 70s, 80s Maybe back to the 50s as well,” Gratton explained.
With the event taking place in the business hub of the city, MTACC is hopeful there will be increased foot traffic for businesses.
Prior to this show and shine, Gratton had always been a spectator but this year it’s all hands-on deck to make sure the event runs smoothly.
“This is my first year actually being involved with the car show. I was one of those people that walked into the businesses with foot pet traffic as well. So I’m looking forward to seeing how many people actually do that this year.”
Gratton extended his gratitude to everyone involved including the board of directors, sponsors, businesses, and volunteers.
