The Nipawin and District Chamber of Commerce has honoured several local businesses.
The Chamber held the ABEX Awards Thursday night at the Nipawin Legion.
Executive Director Lisa Suchlandt told northeastNOW she was pleased with the turnout for the event.
“This year was a little different than others. We normally plan it for a Friday, this year we did it on a Thursday and it was a shorter evening,” Suchlandt said.
The Legion hosted and catered the event, while two dancers with the Nipawin School of Dance performed solo routines.
“Thank you to everyone who attended the event, the catering committee of the Legion, and the young ladies who danced to entertain us,” added Suchlandt.
There were four awards handed out on the evening:
Heritage Award: Nipawin & District Regional Park
Retail Award: Nipawin Handi-Works
Service Award: Venice House
Best Employer Award: Peak Fitness

Suchlandt said it’s important to recognize the hard work and dedication business owners and employees put forth each and every day, and all of the nominees were deserving of the awards.
She congratulated all the award winners and nominees.
