A recount of votes for the Birch Hills municipal election will not result in any change to the initial results.
Bria Lindsay, who ran for councillor, is the only one who submitted a request for the recount of the councillor and mayor ballots.
The votes that separated Lindsay and the next councillor was 18 votes.
The votes that separated between the two candidates for Mayor was 86. The Mayor recount did not happen as the difference was deemed significant.
For the recount of the councillor ballots, there was one spoiled ballot which had seven votes on it. That was the only error in the recount however the difference between Lindsay and the next candidate remains at 18.
According to the town’s initial Facebook Post, Stewart Adams received 213 votes and was elected mayor while John Herd received 127 votes.
