An annual tradition for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Humboldt (BBBS) is coming up next week.
The 45th annual Bowl for Kids Sake is being held at Kemway Lanes in Humboldt from Feb. 10 to 14.
Program Lead Jillana Beaudoin told northeastNOW that this year’s theme is Farmer in the Lane, a take on Farmer in the Dell.
“Bowlers raise funds, then dress up and enjoy a night of bowling,” Beaudoin said.
Participants are encouraged to dress up, and there are prizes for best-dressed individuals and teams. The highest adult pledge earner will receive a $100 Visa gift card, and the highest student pledge earner will receive a Chromebook courtesy of This Is Your Computer.
Bowlers also get their name in a draw for every $100 raised, and there are silent auction items with door prizes up for grabs.
The event is one of Humboldt BBBS three main fundraisers of the year. Beaudoin said all funds raised directly support the organization’s programs, helping them recruit, and match volunteer mentors with children on the waitlist, while providing impactful group programming for youth.
“Every dollar helps us create life-changing connections,” Beaudoin said.
The organization’s goal is to raise $20,000.
People can still sign up by calling Kemway Lanes at 306-682-2344, and pledge forms can be found at https://humboldt.bigbrothersbigsisters.ca/bowl-for-kids-sake-2025/.
