A busy camping season lies ahead in Saskatchewan and northeastNOW is putting the spotlight on area regional parks ahead of the May long weekend.
The St. Brieux Regional Park and Golf Course is under new management and ready for another season.
The campground will open on May long weekend according to general manager Tenyll Cook
“Next weekend is just over 50 percent booked and July and August are pretty much booked solid,” Cook said. “There is some availability booking ahead and we always have our non-electrical sites that are first come, first served.”
Any sized camper, motorhome, or tent can be accommodated on the sites.
A lot of anglers make their way to St. Brieux, Cook said.
“The fishing has been excellent so far this year, we have a swimming area, and the docks are going in this weekend,” Cook said.
The park also features a mini-golf course, a play area for kids, walking trails, and an ice cream shack. The museum in town is also open this year for anyone wanting to go into town for a museum tour. Swimming lessons will be available as needed.
The golf course has had a busy first week as well and the clubhouse menu has also been revamped. There will be specialty nights at the clubhouse which will be updated on their Facebook page.
“We have been given the go ahead for tournaments and there will be men’s and ladies nights,” Cook said.
Cook is new to the role of general manager and is excited for the upcoming and busy season.
“I started in April, so just a month in and we have a lot on the go so come and visit us,” Cook said.
