The owners of JBN Promotions in Melfort are settling into their updated space.
The custom embroidery, branding and promotional item business has been in the community since 2000.
Heidi and Brandon Brignall bought the company in April of 2016 and the store was located on Burrows Ave. W. until about four weeks ago.
“We wanted better parking, we needed a bit of an update for our space, it is ours and we are very proud of it,” Heidi said. “It is a bit smaller of a space, but definitely a better layout and we have been able to make it our own.”
JBN can now be found at 212 Burrows Ave. E.
The COVID-19 pandemic has brought many struggles for businesses and while JBN has also faced similar challenges, it hasn’t been all bad.
“Our customers have been really great to us, they have come back and are supporting us,” Heidi said. “Last year, a lot of Christmas parties couldn’t happen so people were buying gifts for their staff, so we have been lucky.”

With the move to the new location comes the hopes of an expansion in the future.
“We are kind of at a tipping point right now where if we stay where we are, we are perfectly fine but if we get bigger, we will be able to expand our services and expand our circle,” Brandon said.
Of course, an expansion would result in job opportunities in the community and area. As of right now, the couple operates the business themselves.
“We have had part-time people in the past but whether family reasons, or moving, or COVID, it is just Heidi and I now,” Brandon said.

JBN Promotions can do laser engraving on things like mugs and anything wood, metal or plastic. They also offer directional signage for new builds, large format printing, UV printing of full colour, heat pressing, vinyl cutting, screen printing, embroidery, and skate sharpening.
“We are getting back into the flow of things and a better flow than before,” Brandon said. “The other store was very narrow, and machines were stacked side-to-side, and this has more of a cohesive flow.”

Renovations took place prior to the move and took about four months from the day that the Brignall’s had keys in hand for the new JBN building.
