An attempt to rebrand Regina backfired with some people calling Experience Regina’s slogans misogynistic. Tourism Regina rebranded Experience Regina with slogans like “Let’s make Regina sexy,” and “Show us your Regina.”
The new approach was found humorous by some, but many people called for an end to it. Experience Regina has since removed the slogans.
Right now, every city in Canada is trying to fill its restaurants, hotels, and venues. The tourism industry has always been a competitive element for any community. Locally, we see it.
Experience Regina wanted a good conversation starter. Their marking idea didn’t fly and so they decided to pull back the reins. But it sure got attention, and you know what they say about any publicity….
