A high-profile murder trial that was set to commence this week in Yorkton is facing delays.
As per a request from the defence, Brian McLeod’s matters have been re-scheduled to the week of March 10, 2025.
The case dates back to Christmas Eve, 2022, when the 58-year-old man from Lloydminster is alleged to have murdered 51-year-old Sharon Littlewolfe.
The two had been involved in a long-term relationship.
Mcleod is also charged with attempted murder and aggravated assault for an alleged attack on Littlewolfe’s adult daughter who faked her own death in order to survive. Her infant son was four months old at the time and was also injured in the attack.
The attack happened in a duplex in Margo, a tiny community of 90 people located southeast of Wynyard and two hours from Melfort.
Littlewolfe had just purchased the duplex several weeks before her death and her daughter and grandson moved into the second half.
